BÚSQUEDA DE UNA ENTROPÍA 

La exposición de la obra de José Luis Menéndez Alvarez, explora la intersección entre la ana-tomía y la red neuronal de las emociones. Un arquetipo óseo se impone ante la estética deformada que opera desde la deslocalización de los órganos vitales, la ausencia de rostros, o la transmutación del código humano hacia otra dimensionalidad que pudiera abrirnos la existencia de vida en otros planos o universos. La distopía, el acto subversivo de aflorar estadios emocionales atravesados por una aproximación post humanista están flotan-do en el juego de luces y sombras que acarician las piezas exhibidas. Menéndez opera en una materialidad donde el equilibrio, el espacio y el anhelo por confluir hacia la naturaleza confrontan con el elemento más abundante de la tierra, el hierro, que en su naturaleza es dúctil pero abrupto, moldeable pero consistente, frío y al tiempo mimético y que evoca una memoria arquetípica donde identificamos un universal sanguíneo que bombea y resuelve los conflictos de la estética contemporánea. Cada escultura avanza en una dirección incógnita, desde el estadio del hombre crisálida, que nos conecta con la transmutación de la materia de los deseos, de una necesaria protoconstruccion social . Hasta el viaje iniciático que todo migrante atraviesa desde su Ítaca y que interpela a la transformación interna que el devenir nos impone ante el deseo, la existencia o los anhelos de destrucción. La escultura como facto diferencial de las narrativas contemporáneas, se adecuan a una simbiosis donde la forma, brinda paso a la narrativa conceptual. Menéndez, anexa a su narrativa la volumetría como un articulado constructivo, un despiezado que adquiere dimen-siones gigantescas, y donde la impronta del desapego inicial marca la distancia entre el espectador y la obra, como una necesaria distancia del miedo que permite luego hasta un juego lúdico cuando la obra interactúa con los cuerpos visitantes en la sala. Hay una fascinación en la frontera del respeto que impone el tamaño de la obra y la empatía que el antihéroe evoca a través de los títulos de las obras, ” mis púas”, ‘levantando la cabeza” o “desesperado”, generan un contexto de reflexión y ternura como sucede con las leyendas de los extintos gigantes. Estos morfoesqueletos evocan un imaginario de realidades psíquicas, donde hermanarnos a los sentimientos del autor, ya su vez nos permiten despren-dernos de la carga de los mismos para admirar su simetría pese al corazón dislocado que todas las obras tienen en sus pelvis.

IN SEARCH FOR AN ENTROPY

The exhibition of the work of José Luis Menéndez Alvarez explores the intersection between anatomy and the neural network of emotions. A bone archetype prevails over the distorted aesthetic that operates from the relocation of vital organs, the absence of faces, or the trans-mutation of the human code towards another dimensionality that could open up the existence of life on other planes or universes. Dystopia, the subversive act of bringing out emotional stages traversed by a post-humanist approach, are floating in the play of light and shadow that caress the exhibited pieces. Menéndez operates in a materiality where balance, space and the desire to merge towards nature confront the most abundant element on earth, iron, which in its nature is ductile but abrupt, moldable but consistent, cold and mimetic at the same time. and that evokes an arche-typal memory where we identify a sanguine universal that pumps and resolves the conflicts of contemporary aesthetics. Each sculpture advances in an unknown direction, from the stage of the chrysalis man, which connects us with the transmutation of the matter of desires, of a neces-sary social protoconstruction. Until the initiation journey that every migrant goes through from his Ithaca and that challenges the internal transformation that the future imposes on us before desire, existence or the desire for destruction. The sculpture as a differential factor of the contemporary narratives, adapts to a symbiosis where the form gives way to the conceptual narrative.
